Meet Nicolette Ferrante, MS, LAC, NCC

Associate Counselor

(862)-330-0083

Whether you're looking for support for yourself or searching for the right therapist for your child or teen, finding someone who you truly connect with matters. My goal is to create a warm, welcoming place where children, teens, and adults feel comfortable being themselves, knowing they'll be met with empathy, curiosity, and understanding.

I am a Licensed Associate Counselor (LAC) and Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC), practicing under the clinical supervision of Danielle Brown, MS, LPC, NCC, ACS. I provide virtual therapy for children (ages 6+), teens, and adults throughout New Jersey helping clients navigate life's challenges with evidence-based care, empathy, and genuine collaboration.

I believe therapy is more than reducing symptoms—it's about gaining a deeper understanding of yourself, building confidence, and developing skills that help you navigate life long after our sessions end.  Whether I'm working with a child, a teenager, or an adult, I tailor each session to the individual's needs while creating a space where growth is fostered and achievable.

A Personalized, Collaborative Approach

No two people experience life the same way, so I don't believe therapy should follow a single formula.  I take the time to get to know each client as an individual, creating an approach that reflects your unique experiences, strengths, goals, and stage of life. I believe real change begins with a strong therapeutic relationship built on trust, team-work, and deep understanding.

My work integrates several evidence-based treatment approaches, including:

  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)

  • Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP)

  • Exposure Therapy

  • Trauma-Informed Therapy

  • Person-Centered Therapy

  • Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)

  • Mindfulness and Acceptance-Based Interventions

  • Solution-Focused Therapy

  • Psychodynamic Therapy

  • Interactive Virtual Play Therapy

  • Art Therapy

For adults, I blend evidence-based strategies with thoughtful exploration to help you gain powerful insight, navigate life's challenges, and build practical skills for tangible growth. For children and adolescents, I incorporate interactive, developmentally appropriate techniques that help make virtual therapy engaging and effective. Depending on your child's needs, sessions may include play-based activities, art and creative expression, music, mindfulness exercises, storytelling, and other hands-on interventions designed to build emotional awareness, coping skills, self-esteem, and independence.

Experience Throughout the Lifespan

Throughout my career, I've had the privilege of working with clients ranging in age from 6 to 70. During graduate school, I completed a year-long clinical placement in a partial hospitalization outpatient program, where I facilitated both individual and group therapy.

Since entering private practice, I've continued expanding my work with children, adolescents, and adults facing anxiety, OCD, eating disorders, trauma, depression, relationship concerns, identity exploration, and major life transitions. I deeply value cultural humility and strive to create an inclusive, affirming environment where every client feels respected, heard, and supported.

A Little About Me

Outside of counseling, I enjoy spending time with my two dogs—Bandit, my Shih Tzu, and Denver, my playful Pomeranian, who occasionally likes to make surprise appearances during virtual sessions.

I'm a big fan of coffee, beach days, and spending quality time with family and friends, whether that's trying a new restaurant or enjoying a quiet movie night at home. I also believe in the importance of slowing down and making time to enjoy life, something I encourage my clients to prioritize as well.

Helping others is truly my passion, and I feel honored to walk alongside people during some of life's most challenging and transformative moments. My hope is that every client feels welcomed, valued, and empowered throughout the therapeutic process.  If you're ready to take the next step toward healing, growth, and greater emotional well-being, I'd love the opportunity to guide you.
